Aeroplane Wreckage at Fenton Airfield, 1943.
American Air Force and Australian Army personnel in front of the tail section of a B24D-65-CO Liberator following a Japanese air raid. The aircraft, named 'Homma Hommatis', was part of the 528th Squadron, 380th Bombardment Group USAAF based at Fenton. It was destroyed in the raid, along with 10 other aircraft, damage to the airfield runway, and the fuel dumps set alight.
